    OEM+ INTAKE The Revo open cone Air Intake System for the Ford Ranger improves performance and removes restrictions found in the OEM system. Ensuring your engine can get access to enough air is paramount when increasing power; more air means more power throughout the rev-range. Only Revo Air Intake Systems are specifically designed to work in harmony with your vehicle and Revo Software. Engineered to directly replace the stock plastic intake pipe and filter. This kit comes complete with a silicone hose, air filter and fitting kit. KEY FEATURES Increased Performance Improved Air Flow Efficiency Three Stage Foam Filter with Mesh Stepped Silicone Hose OEM VS REVO When you begin to enhance performance, the restrictive OEM intake struggles to flow enough air, robbing the engine of power. The Revo Air Intake System removes these restrictive elements promoting smoother airflow. OEM+ systems utilise the stock airbox but remove other restrictive parts to enhance airflow to the turbo. Revo Flush Fit silicone hoses mean joins eliminate unwanted turbulence and increase the rate at which air can flow, ensuring maximum performance at any level of tuning. SILICONE HOSE The Revo intake hose is designed to directly replace the plastic corrugated parts. The 4ply silicone intake hose reduces turbulence and internal restrictions. The smooth internal bore results in no loss of cross-sectional area and allows increased airspeed through the intake. FILTER An intake system is only as good as the filter. This kit comes complete with a custom Revo foam filter, supported by galvanised epoxy-coated mesh for strength under load. Revo three-stage foam filters work very differently to conventional paper or cotton-gauze alternatives designed to trap particles on the outer layer. Revo filters trap debris and particles within the foam layers, allowing air to still navigate through. The filter is also reusable. ADDITIONAL FEATURES The Revo hose also keeps the OE PCV take-off location and is supplied with a CNC machined 6061 adaptor which offers greater durability than the stock plastic take-off. The hose clamps supplied with this kit are made of stainless steel. This means they not only have high tensile strength but also will not corrode over time causing a failure.   RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT All Revo products are designed in-house and are rigorously tested utilising an in-house 3D printer, latest CAD and CFD programs, hub dyno and Revo data acquisition software. The Revo intake allows the turbo to run more efficiently, intake a larger volume of air and minimise turbulence to increase airflow, as highlighted during controlled testing.   LOWERING TEMPERATURES To show the efficiency of the Revo Intake, airflow was measured using our own Ford data logging software. Logging a 3rd and 4th gear pull through the rev range you see the improvements of the Revo Intake compared to stock. This single casting design with the cross bridges cast in place creates a very stiff unit and very little compliance during braking. Less compliance means less pedal travel because the brake fluid is only applying force to the pistons, not bending the caliper. This applies the maximum amount of force to the Ferodo performance brake pads. Caliper Piston Seals Our brakes use ultra-high-resilience piston seals, with proprietary retraction angle shape, minimising piston travel distance for less dead pedal travel and resulting in better pedal feel in the vehicle. BRAKE DISCS: Properly designed two-piece floating discs = quiet, warp-free performance. When brakes are applied and the moving energy (kinetic energy) is converted into heat, the disc expands radially and axially (diameter and thickness). Revo uses a floating disc that can thermally grow separate from the bell. This design is superior to a one-piece disc—when a one-piece disc is overheated, it gets much hotter than the bell and they expand at different rates, causing warpage or cracking. Revo Floating Disc Construction Racers have long used floating disc technology, but the discs found on racecars move freely on the floating pin drive connecting the bell to the disc, causing noise. To eliminate the rattling race disc for our street car customers, we have engineered a unique noise-reducing methodology that eliminates noise but still allows for thermal expansion without running out of "float." Crescent Grooves Crescent grooves in the surface of our Alcon brake disc perform three basic functions: Increases initial friction between the disc and pads, producing more bite Continuously refreshes the brake pad surface by removing debris from the pad Prevents build up of gas from the phenolics within the pads Vane Design Our brakes use either 48 or 252 vanes, depending on application, to draw air from the center of the disc outward. These vanes work like a pump to move cool air through the center of the disc, taking the heat away from the disc and cooling it before the next heavy braking zone. Combining the highly advanced iron alloy with the efficient aerofoil vane design allows the disc to absorb large amounts of energy (heat), then eliminate heat quickly so that it is not transferred to the calipers, pads, and brake fluid, providing consistent stopping power over multiple applications for your vehicle. BRAKE PADS: Ferodo DSPerfromance Brake Pads offer low and high speed braking efficiency, reduced stopping distances and a consistent brake pedal feel from the start. This new generation of friction material is very low in compressibility ensuring a firm pedal, whilst still providing low wear rates for discs and pads. Combined with low wheel dusting and good noise characteristics, this compound is the brake pad for the driver who demands the ultimate in track day braking performance. Designed from the ground up, the Revo Intercooler has a 58% larger core volume than the OEM part and offers perfect fitment. By removing the “air separation dam” it allows access to a volume of unused engine bay space to be filled with the intercooler core. INTERCOOLER HEIGHT The decision to manufacturer the cooler at ¾ height and not fill all the available space was key in balancing the performance benefits against functionality. Offering the most efficiency per-cubic-cm cooling capacity and minimising pressure drop, whilst managing unnecessary weight. Also allowing sufficient airflow to the vehicle’s radiator and air ducting.   END TANK DESIGN The Revo end tank geometry maintains the largest possible cross-sectional flow area to and from the core. With a cast interior surface finish, the Revo end tanks allow air to flow freely without obstructions. The design has been balanced between core width and optimal tank profile design. End tanks play an important part in maintaining pressure and work in harmony with the core to promote airflow, the Revo end tanks are designed to offer the optimal balance between both of these key features.   BAR & PLATE Designed with a bar and plate core to maximise the efficiency of heat transfer, the pressure drop is also controlled as the air meets less resistance compared to that of a tube and fin alternative. The Revo Intercooler also features carefully specified fin geometry to maximise cooling properties while minimising flow restriction. The ambient core side utilises louvred fins to slow ambient airflow which improves heat transfer, while the charge core side features an offset internal fin design to balance surface area and air resistance to minimise pressure drop.   INTERCOOLER PIPE UPGRADE Supplied with an upgraded silicone charge and throttle pipes. The increased diameter pipework ensures the maximum performance by increasing system volume by over 17%. The internal diameter of each silicone is precisely matched to the outer diameter of the ribbed inlet and outlet connections along with a unique Flush Fit design, allowing a smooth transition between components. This has done away with the stock “quick-connect” hose couplings and removes the restrictions present in the charge systems. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT All Revo products are designed in-house using the latest 3D printing technology, CAD and CFD software. Every product is rigorously tested utilising an in-house Hub dyno and Revo data acquisition software. The Revo intercooler minimises turbulence while maximising heat transfer, promoting cooler air temperatures and low-pressure drop. This helps retains power and torque throughout the rev range as highlighted during controlled Dyno testing. The Revo Intercooler was tested in-house to compare the performance against that of the stock Intercooler. First tested on a vehicle running the OEM Intercooler with Revo Stage 1 software, a Revo open cone air intake system and Milltek GPF back exhaust, the Revo Intercooler and pipes were then installed and tested in the same controlled environment to highlight the benefits of enhanced cooling.   PERFORMANCE DATA Showing the last of six consecutive dyno runs, the efficiency of the Revo Intercooler over the OEM Fiesta Mk8 intercooler is highlighted. With peak gains of +10 HP & +28NM Torque, along with increased performance throughout the entire rev range. The stock intercooler struggles to effectively function in comparison to the Revo Intercooler which remained consistent throughout. INLET TEMPERATURE This is a metric used to confirm that testing on the Revo Fiesta ST 1.5 EcoBoost Intercooler. This is used to show that the air temperatures going into the intercooler were similar for each test, confirming that outlet temperatures shown in the following graphs are purely down to differences in intercooler design/construction. As can be seen, the inlet temperatures during testing were hotter on the Revo Intercooler, yet the Revo intercooler produced the lower outlet temps proving the cooling efficiency. OUTLET TEMPERATURE This is the main performance metric to illustrate that the Revo intercooler far exceeds the stock unit. A strong indication that the Revo intercooler is extremely resistant to heat soak and could likely continue for tens more sequential dyno runs before any intake temperature-related issues arose. The graph illustrates the increased cooling performance of the Revo intercooler vs OEM ST intercooler over all six runs. The Revo Intercooler provided a massive 34.4°C max and 12.8°C average intake air temperature reduction across the six back to back full gear dyno runs. INTERCOOLER PRESSURE DROP GRAPH Pressure drop is an important factor when it comes to choosing an Intercooler. The Revo solution features custom cast end tanks to evenly distribute air over the core. This graph highlights that even with massive core size difference there is only a 0.11psi pressure drop in comparison to the stock intercooler, ensuring engine response and minimised turbo lag. SILICONE HOSE The Revo silicone hose as an increased inner diameter that gradually tapers from hard pipe to turbo to optimise airflow. Designed to directly replace the plastic hose and turbo elbow, this upgrade reduces restriction and maximises smooth airflow improving both power and torque throughout the rev range. A machined billet bung is integrated into the hose, connecting the stock PCV system vacuum. TURBO INLET The Revo machined inlet replaces the restrictive elbow found on the IS20/IS38 turbos. The billet aluminium inlet securely fits the OE unit using locking tabs and integrated O-rings. With almost double the cross-sectional area compared to other available products, air can stabilise and distribute before a smooth tapered transition to the turbo. Removing the internal steps between components further ensures uninterrupted airflow and removes any unnecessary turbulence. HEATSHIELD Ensuring the engine has access to cold air is vital for performance. The Revo heat shield channels cold air from the front intake duct while partitioning the filter from the heat of the engine bay. The Revo Heatshield uses the stock mounting points to provide easy and secure installation. FILTER An intake system is only as good as the filter. This kit comes complete with a custom Revo foam filter, supported by galvanised epoxy-coated mesh for strength under load. Revo three-stage foam filters work very differently to conventional paper or cotton-gauze alternatives designed to trap particles on the outer layer. Revo filters trap debris and particles within the foam layers, allowing air to still navigate through.   RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT All Revo products are designed in-house and are rigorously tested utilising an in-house 3D printer, latest CAD and CFD programs, hub dyno and Revo data acquisition software. The Revo intake allows the turbo to run more efficiently, intake a larger volume of air and minimise turbulence to increase both power and torque, as highlighted during controlled dyno testing.   PERFORMANCE DATA Back-to-back testing of the stock air intake system and the Revo kit were carried out. Fitted to an Audi S3 (310PS Model) with Revo ECU Software, Revo Intercooler, Revo Charge & Throttle Pipes and Revo Downpipe. The results show improvement throughout the whole rev range. The Revo intake offering an average gain of +12WHP, and +18NM torque over the stock part. Increased airflow also delivers impressive peak performance gains of +19.4BHP @6000rpm and +55NM @2400RPM over the stock intake system. AIRFLOW To evaluate the efficiency, the Revo Intake was tested for inlet charge pressure and mass airflow. Boost pressure was measured and an increase in charge pressure was seen across the top end of the RPM range, as detailed in the dyno graph. The stock engine mounts, designed to favour comfort over performance, fail to manage axle hop and torque effectively requiring you to ease off in order to gain traction. Designed to significantly reduce this engine movement, Revo engine mounts use Dual Durometer technology to minimise noise, vibration and harshness levels (NVH) while drastically improving traction and acceleration. The engine, transmission and torque mounts have been CAD designed to offer OE quality fitment with the performance benefits and quality of a Revo product. Key Features Dramatically reduce engine movement Improved acceleration and torque Dual Durometer Technology Comes with removal tool for torque mount Engine & Transmission Mount The primary design goal of the engine and transmission mounts was to provide a management system for engine movement during vehicle operation with increased power/torque, in order to retain vehicle acceleration and tyre contact during aggressive driving. The aforementioned solution must also continue to dissipate the NVH naturally created by the drivetrain. To accomplish this, the bushing design of past Revo engine mounts was retained in the MQB engine and transmission mounts, allowing Revo engineers to focus their efforts on bushing stiffness/type to accomplish the task. Torque Mount Arguably the most vital engine mount upgrade to consider, testing highlighted that the engines stock lower torque mount allowed a substantial amount of engine movement to occur. Although some improvements were noted during testing of an insert style upgrade designed to stiffen the standard mount, there was a significant increase in NVH felt in the cabin. This was dramatically reduced when completely replaced with the Revo polyurethane torque mount and also improved acceleration. Fitting the mount does not require the sub-frame to be removed, reducing installation time and the need for axle re-alignment. A Revo installation tool is included to make removal of the OEM mount and installation of the replacement as quick and easy as possible. Materials, Manufacturing & Fitment Effective design and fitment plays a principal role in managing engine movement to ensure optimal acceleration and tyre contact with the road while dissipating NVH experienced from the drivetrain. Each component has been designed using CAD technology to ensure precision fitment and is supplied with class 12.9 hardware to replace the standard fixings. To ensure optimum strength and durability, brackets and housings are CNC machined from 6061-billet aluminium and finished with an anodised coating to protect from heat and corrosion. OEM Comfort, Aftermarket Performance To achieve the optimal balance between performance and comfort, several different durometer bushings were tested on a Volkswagen Golf Mk7 GTI. Bushings were systematically tested at precise increments at each mount location. A 3-axis accelerometer was used to quantify the NVH levels being transmitted into the cabin, as well as the acceleration of the drivetrain during loading. Accelerometer data gave us a way to compare mount combinations against each other with a low data error percentage and to quantify driver comfort as well as engine movement. Supplemental data was taken from VCDS to ensure each individual test was standardised over a given throttle, RPM and speed range. The graph shows the amount of vibration measured whilst driving through the gears. CROSS OVER PIPE The Revo engineering team knew that to create the most effective kit, every component had to be considered to maximise and smooth airspeed. The system is designed around the aluminium cross over pipe, mandrel-bent to maintain the internal diameter in the corner and to remove the restrictions found in the OEM pipe. The direct routing and increased diameter pipe offer superior flow and deliver more air to the turbocharger over a shorter period.   SILICONE HOSES The plastic hoses on the stock system are designed with a corrugated style to flex with the engine movement, while this has its place it also causes a large amount of turbulence as the airflow doesn’t have a smooth direct path to the turbo. We designed the silicone hoses with stepped internals to ensure a flush fit and to minimise turbulence while still allowing for engine movement.   AIR FILTER The standard paper filter found in most vehicles performs well under normal conditions, however, with the increased power it becomes a major choking point in the system. Revo filters work by trapping dirt particles within each of the oiled foam layers while allowing air to negotiate its way through, reducing restriction and offering much longer service intervals. The new Revo filter features a direct replacement three-layer foam filter,   MOUNTING BRACKET AND FITTING KIT The Revo kits come complete with a full fitting kit that allows for easy installation. First tested on a vehicle running the OEM intake with Revo Stage 1 software, Revo Intercooler and a Milltek GPF back exhaust, the Revo intake was then installed and tested in the same controlled environment to highlight the benefits of enhanced cooling. PERFORMANCE DATA The results show improvement throughout the whole rev range, but especially towards the top end of the rev range. The Revo intake offering an average gain of +4WHP, and +6NM torque over the stock part. Increased airflow also delivers impressive peak performance gains of +11WHP @6100rpm and +13NM @6100RPM over the stock intake system. AIRFLOW More air, less restriction. The Revo system was tested on a flow bench to highlight the efficiency of the kit in allowing more air to reach the turbo, quickly and with less restriction. The OEM system reached its maximum potential of 490 cubic feet per minute with a restriction of 1082 mmWg, compared to the Revo system which was able to flow 570 CFM with a restriction of only 1029 mmWg.
